Overview

In light of the outbreaks of the latest Swine Flu cases in Mexico and other locations around the world, Defence Solutions Australia is now offering a complete Swine Flu kit that provides protection against most epidemics / pandemics.

When dealing with Swine Flu it is important to protect the individual healthcare worker, veterinary or security personnel from exposure. The virus is only .7 microns in diameter and conventional protective garments and masks will allow the virus to pass through the clothing.

Bird Flu / Avian Flu kit - Sealed & Packed

Flu Kit Contents:

1. Coverall, 50gsm Sureshield, white, with hood, WECR style, one piece torso, double zipper flap, V-shape crotch,
with 1.5cm reinforced stripe at crotch and armpit, elastic at wrists,waist and ankles. #5 zipper, no pockets. no printing on the
coverall.

2. Two pieces of vinyl gloves, natural colour.

3. Two pieces of shoe cover, 40gsm PP, white, regular, latex elastic, size:L(39cmX16.5cm).

4. Face mask with eye shield, white, the face mask is made of 18gsm PP+20gsm meltbrown+
25gsm PP, white. The eye shield is made of transparent plastic.

The kit is sealed and packed, ready for use.

The gloves prevent cross-contamination when handling a patient or an animal. The shoe covers will offer protection from contamination on the ground or Triage center.

Technical Data

The SureShield is a bi-laminate which uses a polypropylene spunbond carrier sheet laminated to a microporous polyethylene film. The PE film is breathable. This means that it will allow air molecules to pass through but will not let chemicals or viral bodies to pass through. It is splash resistant and will offer 100% protection against the H1N1 Flu Virus.

All kits include a surgical face mask with an attached polyester eye shield. The Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) of the masks is rated between 98.9% and 99.4%. The Swine Flu Virus will not pass through these masks. If you are using a N95 mask which means 95% filtration efficiency then the virus will pass through 8% of the time. The eye shield is provided to protect the eyes from possibly receiving viral contact in the event of a patient coughing or sneezing. The wet and warm surfaces of the eyes provide a perfect entry and breeding ground for the virus and must be protected.
